All About HHOP — Health Humanitarian Outreach Project
The mission of HHOP is to support, promote, and operate international health and humanitarian projects.
Work in the past included: building medical clinics, supplying medical equipment to hospitals and clinics, supporting schools, building water systems in villages and hospitals, installing bio-sand water filters, building vented stoves in homes, building latrines and teaching hygiene, and other similar projects. Work has mostly been done in Jamaica, Haiti, and Honduras. HHOP has been part of the admin team for projects in Africa.
Nothing tops the experience of being on the ground, working directly with the local people. HHOP work teams made up of Rotarians, high school and college students, and friends of Rotarians have traveled to these countries to work with local Rotary Clubs and help on these projects. Usually, at least one trip a year is organized. HHOP has also helped other Rotary groups plan their own work trips.
